Before you Start

Students should be able to:

  • Read closed syllable words with digraphs and blends (CVC, CCVC, CVCC, CCVCC).
  • Recognize open and closed vowel syllable patterns.
  • Receive instruction on long vowel patterns: silent e, ( magic e) vowel digraph team.
  • Participate in the word sort activity by vowel syllable pattern.
  • Receive instruction in inflectional endings (third person singular-s tense marker)
